Overview

Stellar Care and Services is looking for an SCC and Specialized Habilitation Program Director for Day Program in our Colorado Springs location. Our company is dedicated to providing services to adults with developmental disabilities across the state of Colorado. details

In order to qualify you must have a reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration, internet access at home, no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, and proficient use of computer programs such as MS Office, Google Workspace, etc., as well as demonstrate an ability to quickly learn new software applications. The position is a full-time salaried exempt position.

Stellar Care offers a competitive wage and benefits commensurate with the position. This position works primarily out of the office location and is not work from home.

Compensation

$57,782.40 per year + $0.52 for mileage reimbursement.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director, the Program Director contributes to the Stellar Care team effort by supporting and communicating the Stellar Care and Services mission, vision, strategic plan, goals, and management decisions. The Program Director interprets and ensures that Stellar Care policies are followed along with the rules and regulations of Colorado Health Policy and Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the overall Program.
  • Lead hiring, orientation, and ongoing training of direct support professionals (mentors), and ensure all aspects of the program are developed, implemented, coordinated, and monitored to a high degree.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of experience in supervising employees, conflict management, and compliance.
  • Monitor the quality of all aspects of the program to ensure a therapeutic atmosphere and respect for individuals' dignity.
  • Communicate organizational standards to staff and the community; review and communicate results with the Director.
  • Manage a team of mentors, ensuring ongoing training and quality standards are met; collaborate with other program directors and service providers to ensure quality care and continuity.
  • Develop schedules and assign mentors to meet the needs of persons served and program budgets; approve changes and coordinate fill-ins/re-assignments.
  • Provide staff training on individual choice and rights, and Stellar Care rules; ensure compliance with state rules and internal policies.
  • Monitor staff attitudes, review service plan outcomes, and provide feedback and leadership; implement mistreatment protocols and assist investigative processes as needed.
  • Conduct routine staff meetings and unannounced monitoring visits as needed; ensure staff can reach the program director or designee at all times.
  • Train staff on written reports (Daily Tracking Notes and Incident Reports); monitor timeliness and accuracy of reports; review progress and outcomes with staff.
  • Coordinate with case managers for planning and interdisciplinary team meetings; communicate with families/guardians and respond to concerns and emergencies.
  • Maintain regular contact with individuals served; solicit feedback; ensure services meet team expectations and are in the individual's best interests.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings; advocate for individuals and maintain ongoing contact with case managers.
  • Provide guidance on program issues, notify case managers of allegations of mistreatment or major changes, and respond to complaints promptly.
  • Ensure all staff meet Stellar Care conditions of employment and receive adequate orientation and training; document performance and development plans; provide coaching and feedback.
  • Monitor time sheets, approve hours/overtime/mileage within budgets, and communicate pay changes as needed.
  • Initiate quarterly audits and communicate improvement needs to quality and agency directors.
  • Participate in license and certification reviews and surveys; coordinate necessary changes for compliance within timelines.
Qualifications

The Program Director must be a qualified professional with education, experience, and abilities, including prior experience developing and implementing individual programs, budget implementation, and supervising others. Good decision-making, time management, and communication skills are required; responsible, mature, and flexible. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
