Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (RN) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at United States Air Force Academy, CO.

The Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (RN)must have and meet the following:
- Degree: Associates Degree of Nursing. the HCW will need to attend and successfully complete the five (5) day Department of Defense (DoD)/Air Force Behavioral Health Care Facilitator (BHCF) training.
- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or as otherwise identified in the TO.
- Certification: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross Healthcare Provider Course. The HCW shall be certified or certification eligible by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse.
- Experience: One year of experience in nursing as identified in the TO after graduation. A minimum of three (3) years full-time nursing experience is required. Member must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the last 3 calendar years providing services such as psychiatric or mental/behavioral health nursing. Working knowledge of mental health levels of care to include post-hospital and acute care illness stabilization.
Ability to anticipate and articulate to health management and/or interdisciplinary team members the patient’s needs, requirements, abilities, and limitations. Comprehensive understanding of professional nursing care standards, theories, principles, practices, disease processes and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate to severe difficulty for acute and chronically ill adult and geriatric patients as appropriate. Must possess a working knowledge of mental health, human growth and development, and pathophysiology of disease processes, as they apply to the care environment for all ages of the spectrum from adult to geriatrics.
Knowledge of psychopharmacological agents used in patient treatment, knowledge of the desired effects, side effects and complications of their use, as well as the accurate administration of the psychopharmacologic agents. Must possess a working knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient conditions including the disease process, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care. - Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required in the TO.
Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (RN) Core Job Duties:
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
- Perform physical exam and health histories.
- Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
- Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
- Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
- Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
- Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
- Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
- Perform nursing services identified in the TO.
- Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (RN) Core Specific Duties:
- BHCF duties as outlined in DoDI 6490.15 Integration of Behavioral Health Personnel Services into Patience-Centered Medical Home Primary Care and Other Primacy Care Service Settings and the BHOP Practice Manual.
- Although the BHCF may assist the PCM and PCMH in completing several nursing tasks, it is imperative that the BHCF is aware of his or her primary responsibility: to serve as a liaison between the patient and the PCM; and to facilitate care for patients newly prescribed long-term and/or daily medications (by their PCM) for anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
- The BHCF ensures that at least 90% of their time is engaged in their primary work responsibilities.
