Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Supervisor in Colorado Springs. We’re looking for a compassionate RN with oncology experience to step into a Nurse Supervisor role in our oncology clinic. While prior supervisory experience is preferred, it’s not required— we welcome candidates who are ready to grow into leadership and will be supported with mentorship from a dedicated Nurse Manager.

You'll lead a team of RNs and MAs, with additional support from an MA Supervisor, and collaborate closely with an outstanding group of physicians and advanced practice providers. This role offers the chance to stay close to patient care while guiding and supporting a high‑performing team of nurses. Compensation

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $/yr.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical oversight of all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Establishes and maintains all nursing personnel files.
  • Ensures all licensing and certification criteria are met.
  • Assists with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures; ensures adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics; maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs within budgetary parameters.
  • Participates in the interviewing and recruiting of nursing personnel.
  • Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary; demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
  • Ensures clinical operations and practice are consistent with organizational objectives; monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Directs the correct use of charge codes and coordinates education of all staff in correct procedures per reimbursement guidelines.
  • Develops new services and activities for patients, families and staff in accordance with practice service objectives.
  • Implements staff retention and training programs with support from clinic leads; coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in‑services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day‑to‑day guidance to less experienced nurses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education/Training – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred; RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state; current CPR certification required.
  • Business Experience – Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience; one‑year leadership experience preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge/Skills – Oncology certification preferred;
    Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card preferred.

Physical Requirements

Large percent of time performing computer‑based work required. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
