Job DescriptionAs a Utility Patrol Driver in Colorado Springs, CO
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as utilities. You are a Part‑Time Security Officer able to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned utility locations, helping to deter security‑related incidents while providing exceptional customer service.
This primarily driving post gives you the opportunity to remain visible throughout the site, communicate with staff and visitors, and respond promptly to situations as they arise.

- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
- Observe and report any security‑related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity during patrols.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities and incidents as required by site procedures.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, visitors, and staff while on patrol.
- Assist in controlling access to restricted areas according to site‑specific guidelines.
Must possess one or more of the following:
- Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (e.g., Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone.
- Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field.
- Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies.
- Minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch.
- Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service.
- Valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
