Northrop Grumman Space Sector has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal or Sr. Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer (Level 3/4) supporting an Internal Research and Development (IRAD) group. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified, diverse, and innovative individuals. This position can be located in either Colorado Springs, CO or Boulder, CO.

Position Overview As a Software Dev Ops Engineer (Level 3/4) on an Internal Research and Development (IRAD) team. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand system requirements and create and implement Dev Ops solutions using tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes, Sonar Qube, Gherkin, Cucumber, Docker, and others to enable quick and efficient software development and delivery.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer Level 3 or a Sr. Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer Level 4.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer Level 3 or Sr. Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer Level 4

• Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer – Level 3:
  Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience.
• Sr. Principal Software Dev Ops Engineer – Level 4:
  Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start.
• Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Experience with automated testing and software development pipelines/factories.
• Experience deploying applications in a containerized environment.
• Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using tools like Gherkin and Cucumber for automated acceptance testing.
• Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, Code Quality, Static Analysis, and CI/CD tools such as:
  Atlassian tool suite, Jira, Git Hub, Git Lab, Sonar Qube, Coverity, and Jenkins.
• Unix/Linux Operating System Experience.
• Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations.
• Experience implementing complex mathematical algorithms in code.
• Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis.
• Experience with battle management and/or fire control systems.
• Experience developing software in an Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.
• Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics or Computer Science.

Salary Range for Levels 3 and 4

Colorado Springs Level 3: $103,600 - $155,400
Boulder Level 3: $114,000 - $171,000
Colorado Springs Level 4: $129,300 - $193,900
Boulder Level 4: $142,200 - $213,400
