The Lead, Chief Software Engineer / AWS Dev Ops Cloud will develop and sustain the Range Control Software (RCS) integration environment as part of a cross‑functional Dev Sec Ops team.
- Chief Software Engineer with an active development role, providing oversight and technical leadership to software development projects.
- Serves as a Product Owner, facilitating Agile software development processes.
- Designs, develops, and tests software applications for large‑scale operational systems.
- Provides guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
- Works to make moderate to substantial improvements or enhancements to systems and processes.
- Communicates within and outside the function or business area, and with external parties.
- Demonstrated experience in a Chief Software Engineer role, providing technical leadership and oversight on large‑scale software projects.
- Proven ability to act as a SAFe Product Owner, managing Agile software development processes.
- Works with Dev Ops team to design and deploy CI/CD pipelines in hybrid virtual machine and Kubernetes environments.
- Delivers automation to provision and deploy complex systems in commercial and private clouds.
- Utilizes Python, Ruby, Groovy, and other automation languages.
- Utilizes a mixture of Windows and Linux environments.
- Maintains Top Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- DoD Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance.
- 6‑9 years experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) including EC2, S3, AMIs, VPCs.
- Experience documenting operations and maintenance activities.
- Experience with STIG per Security Technical Implementation Guides.
- Experience with IAC using Ansible and/or Puppet.
- Experience with Kubernetes/Docker or other container platforms.
- Experience scripting in Power Shell or Python for automation.
- Experience with Agile software development and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience utilizing team collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, Git).
- Experience developing and deploying software using a CI/CD pipeline.
- Background in technical leadership roles and product ownership within Agile frameworks.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience with Open Stack Platform (OSP) Nova management.
- AWS Certification.
- Microsoft System Administrator (MCSA) Certification.
- CompTIA Security+ or better certification.
- Experience working in Kubernetes environments.
- Experience working with an Agile software development team with regular release cycles.
- Familiarity with creating CI/CD process flows such as Jenkins or Gitlab‑CI Pipelines.
- Familiarity with Platform One tools (Jira, Mattermost, Confluence, Git Lab, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience in a Dev Sec Ops environment.
Salary range: $115,000 – $215,000. L3
