Join Boeing’s Missile Defense Team in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL as a Systems Software Engineer – C2
BMC. This role focuses on supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and involves design, development, testing, and integration of Java-based mathematical algorithms into operational software applications.
- Work with industry partners to design, develop, and test Java-based mathematical algorithms for C2
BMC operational software applications. - Support the full software development lifecycle, including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, and software testing.
- Participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.
- Develop software requirements and architecture in support of MDS systems.
- Develop, select, tailor, and deploy integration and test processes, tools, and metrics.
- Execute and document integration and test activities and events.
- Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- 1+ year of experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other software architecture and design modeling techniques.
- 1+ year of experience with Agile software development lifecycle.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience using Git in a Linux environment.
- 2+ years of experience with Java.
- 1+ year of experience with weapon system use‑cases.
- Ability to implement MATLAB based algorithms into Java-based software.
- Strong Java (J2EE/Java Spring) development experience.
- Experience with Eclipse, Maven, Gradle, and/or microservices in software development.
- Experience with software performance optimization.
- Experience with automated unit testing frameworks.
- Security+ or equivalent certification within 60 days of starting.
- Missile defense domain experience, but not required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).
Security ClearanceThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance and a U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start. The U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Pay Range- Associate: $86,700 - $117,300
- Experienced: $107,100 - $144,900
- Senior: $127,500 - $172,500
