K  is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join us in supporting our great nation, supporting Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) development team in Colorado Springs, CO. In this position, you will be responsible for the continued design and development of database models and backend-for-frontend software development.

Additional responsibilities include interfacing with engineering partners from both private and government organizations, as well as direct communication with government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, engineer, analyze, and develop software as part of a multi-disciplinary team

* Develop software architectures that align the system and customer requirements

* Engage with customers to better define the problem space and vision to determine capabilities and priorities

* Work across multiple technology stacks, various languages, frameworks, and tools to support a broad range of applications

* Work with Dev Ops and Cyber Security teams to ensure software development efforts align with the objectives of the larger team Work Environment:

Required Qualifications:

* Security Clearance:
Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI SI/TK, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain

* Experience and

Education:

MS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. Other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience

* Advanced proficiency in Java, and Java frameworks such as Spring Boot and Quarkus

* Experience with Python, C++

* Experience with Docker, AWS and / or Azure, and Kubernetes for containerization, cloud services, and orchestration

* Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Ni Fi

* Experience developing software interfaces for Link 16 and JREAP-C messages

* Experience developing applications that interface with multiple message types, such as xml, and protocol buffers (protobuf)

* Ability to work independently to research and solve customer pain points

* Strong passion for conducting research, tackling complex problems, and continuously learning and adopting new technologies

* Proficient in using Git Lab for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration

* Experienced in implementing Agile Software Development methodologies for efficient and iterative project management
