BASIC FUNCTION
The Senior Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is primarily responsible for managing complex accounting functions related to Lease, Fixed Assets, and Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) accounting for Network Operations of over 300 cell tower sites. This role requires technical US GAAP knowledge, robust analytical skills, and hands‑on experience with leases and fixed assets in a SOX controlled, publicly traded company environment.
The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in monthly closing procedures, financial reporting, SOX internal control compliance, supporting external audits, and maintaining accurate, timely accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. This role collaborates with multiple departments to resolve issues, supports internal and external audits, and improves processes through automation and consistent workflows while maintaining effective internal controls.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee full-lifecycle lease accounting. Maintain and manage the lease management software/system, ensuring all lease contracts, amendments, renewals, and terminations are accurately abstracted and processed. Prepare lease disclosure schedules for quarterly financials. Manage the fixed asset lifecycle: capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairment evaluations, and disposals. Review capital expenditure requests (CAPEX) to ensure proper classification, coding, and compliance with corporate capitalization policies. Lead annual and periodic physical counts of fixed assets and conduct impairment testing assessments when triggering events occur.
Maintain ARO liability and asset retirement cost schedules. Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries for leases, fixed assets, and asset retirement obligations. Support monthly and year-end close activities and meet reporting deadlines. Serve as the primary liaison for tax, internal audit, and external audit matters across all assigned areas. Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance 4–6+ years of relevant accounting experience Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal control frameworks Hands‑on experience with lease, fixed asset, and/or ARO accounting in a publicly traded or SOX-controlled environment is a plus Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA candidate status is a plus Skills/Abilities:
Advanced proficiency in Excel Experience with enterprise resource planning systems; experience with Business Central is a plus Experience with lease software is preferred Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and project management skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex accounting matters clearly for leadership and stakeholders
