Camp Tumbleson Lake - Day Camp Coordinator

The YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake Day Camp Coordinator supervises check-in/check-out procedures, arrival transitions, general supervision, and bus transportation supervision. The role provides a safe and respectful environment for campers, parents, staff, and community members.
Responsibilities- Independently lead and supervise camper check-in and check-out processes.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including medical, disciplinary, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
- Lead and supervise rollcall communication and update program leadership.
- Communicate clearly and frequently with Program and Day Camp Director on transportation updates.
- Lead and supervise medication check-ins for day campers.
- Ensure on-time shifts and flexibility to accommodate schedule changes.
- Ensure safety of campers while on the bus in transit.
- Assist in camp activities and supervision for all campers.
- Supervise during transitionary times upon arrival and departure.
- Maintain confidentiality of YMCA records.
- Maintain friendly, professional relationships with staff, participants, and community members.
- Practice positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques with natural consequences.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Meets Program Leader qualifications as stated by the State of Colorado Division of Human Services Child Care.
- 1-3 years working with children in a camp/school setting.
- Ability to implement age-appropriate program activities and relate to children.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
- Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with parents.
- Completion of mandatory trainings:
Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR;
First Aid; AED;
Bloodborne Pathogens within 30 days of hire. - Other job duties as assigned.
- Hourly rate: $16.82 per hour.
