Camp Tumbleson Lake - Day Camp Coordinator

The YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake Day Camp Coordinator supervises check-in/check-out procedures, arrival transitions, general supervision, and bus transportation supervision. The role provides a safe and respectful environment for campers, parents, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities
  • Independently lead and supervise camper check-in and check-out processes.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including medical, disciplinary, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Lead and supervise rollcall communication and update program leadership.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with Program and Day Camp Director on transportation updates.
  • Lead and supervise medication check-ins for day campers.
  • Ensure on-time shifts and flexibility to accommodate schedule changes.
  • Ensure safety of campers while on the bus in transit.
  • Assist in camp activities and supervision for all campers.
  • Supervise during transitionary times upon arrival and departure.
  • Maintain confidentiality of YMCA records.
  • Maintain friendly, professional relationships with staff, participants, and community members.
  • Practice positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques with natural consequences.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Meets Program Leader qualifications as stated by the State of Colorado Division of Human Services Child Care.
  • 1-3 years working with children in a camp/school setting.
  • Ability to implement age-appropriate program activities and relate to children.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with parents.
  • Completion of mandatory trainings:
    Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR;
    First Aid; AED;
    Bloodborne Pathogens within 30 days of hire.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
