About the Role

Reporter – Full‑time position in Gunnison, Colorado
, working for The Gunnison Country Times, part of O'Rourke Media Group.

• Cover hard news and feature stories for the local community.
• Conduct interviews, craft engaging stories, and meet tight deadlines.
• Use photography when appropriate and produce high‑quality visuals.
• Maintain fairness, accuracy, and ethics in all reporting.

• Degree or diploma in journalism or a related field.
• 1–3 years experience as a reporter, covering hard news or working at a college newspaper.
• Excellent writing, editing, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Strong photography skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to live in or near Gunnison; ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends.

• Exceptional research and investigative abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with digital media tools and social‑media storytelling.

Salary range: $38,500 to $40,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
