Physician, Primary Care Physician, Medical Doctor

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive medical services and primary care to the patients at the Southern Ute Health Center (SUHC). This position is a grade E23; pay starts at $/annually.

Position is open until filled.

• Must be Board-Certified in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, or a combination of those specialties. Loss of Board-Certification or Board-Eligibility status may, on a case-by-case basis, be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination for cause.
• Must maintain unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in one of the States or Territories of the United States of America.
• Must meet all applicable standards for credentials and clinical privileges to provide full ambulatory and primary care to patients at the SUHC, and, if required, local or regional hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
• Must have minimum of 5 years of experience in primary care.
• Must possess a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate.
• Must have computer experience in electronic health records, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Must have professional knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principals, and practices in the field of Primary Care or Family Medicine at the specialist level and the skill to apply this knowledge to average difficult work assignments.
• Must provide current immunization records or obtain required immunizations at the Tribal Health Center prior to starting work in order to meet regulations required for all clinical providers.
• Must provide recent TB test results or be able to obtain a TB test at the Tribal Health Center prior to starting work.
• Must have valid Driver’s License for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal Vehicle Insurance Policy.
• Must pass a thorough criminal history background check including fingerprint check and pre-employment drug test.

• Unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in the State of Colorado
• General knowledge of Indian Self Determination P.L. 93-638.
• Prior work experience with Native American Indian Tribes.
