Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Instruction, the Academic Coordinator supports and coordinates a wide variety of campus academic processes and oversees credit and/or non‑credit instruction or concurrent enrollment as designated.
Responsibilities- Oversee credit and/or non‑credit courses, including scheduling and adjunct faculty selection.
- Coordinate with campus marketing on promotion of classes and bulletin production.
- Manage the budget associated with credit and/or non‑credit programming, First‑Year Experience, and other assigned programs.
- Partner with the Assistant Dean of Instruction and student affairs to create semester class schedules.
- Support campus faculty in Canvas use, reviewing and coordinating updates and documentation for adjunct faculty credentialing.
- Verify, request, and coordinate information in response to credentialing requests.
- Coordinate learning‑management programs, including textbook adoptions, desk‑copy requests, and assisting with student return of textbooks.
- Co‑lead the campus First‑Year Experience.
- Serve as a resource and support for adjunct faculty with technical, operational, and material needs.
- Provide assessment assistance to the Assistant Dean of Instruction when necessary.
- Assign and coordinate training for newly hired adjunct faculty and ongoing adjunct faculty as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with the CEPA Coordinator or act as the CEPA Coordinator to ensure CEPA classes are programmed and running properly.
- Review and verify course syllabi in Canvas for all credit and/or non‑credit adjunct faculty.
- Participate in campus committees and events, potentially chairing committees such as professional development and instructional equipment committees.
- Manage records, data, and reporting for all areas of responsibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
Desired experience: program coordination and support, community education, and demonstrated knowledge of technology used in educational environments.
Special skills or abilities: proficiency with current technology applications used in education, detail orientation and accuracy in record‑keeping and reporting, budget management, effective communication and collaboration, and experience with organizing, promoting, and coordinating processes and events.
Language ProficiencyBilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
Salary & BenefitsHiring range: $66,474.90 – $73,861.01 annual salary, commensurate with education and experience.
