Requirements

- Current Colorado Teaching License or Colorado Substitute Authorization
- Dependability and punctuality
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Reports to the regular teacher all relevant information (e.g. behavior, assignment completion, attendance, etc.).
- Follow the lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Deliver instructional activities to students in a clear and concise manner.
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of the students when necessary.
- Provide additional instructional support to students as needed.
- Maintain a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in the lesson.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
- Complies with applicable state and federal laws, district administrative policies, procedures, and practices, and location requirements.
- Ensures that students are supervised at all times.
- Follows established policies and procedures regarding the health, safety, welfare, and education of students.
- Performs duties assigned to the teacher whose place he/she is filling, including, but not limited to: playground duty, lunchroom duty, hall duty, etc.
- Report to the principal any accidents/incidents or potentially dangerous conditions (e.g. broken playground equipment, frayed electrical wires) that could cause injury.
- Assumes responsibility for knowing duties and responsibilities of the teacher in the event of fire, tornado or other emergencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry classroom materials.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment.
