Certified Exempt – Full‑Time (1.0 FTE / 40 hrs/week)

Contract Period: 185 + 10 additional working days / 1 year.

Salary Range: $54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relevant experience). This is a full‑time, 8‑hour workday (FTE
1) salary. Salaries for less than 1.0 FTE will be prorated. Credentialed teaching experience outside the District or U.S. may be considered in salary placement.

Position Overview

The Dean of Culture plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and productive school environment. The role focuses on creating and upholding a school culture that promotes respect, accountability, equity, and high expectations for students and staff.

Necessary Credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Active Colorado license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Proof of enrollment and required documentation to CDE must be provided within 30 days.

Job Duties
  • Minimum of seven years experience in public education, preferably secondary level.
  • Strong background in student behavior management, school culture initiatives, or social‑emotional learning. Leadership or administrative experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience applying Restorative Practices within educational environments.
  • Preference for conversational or higher‑level Spanish fluency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Establish and enforce behavioral expectations and school norms.
  • Create programs and initiatives that promote social‑emotional learning and student well‑being.
  • Actively promote a school environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Oversee and manage student behavior and discipline with fair and consistent enforcement.
  • Implement restorative justice practices or other alternative discipline strategies.
  • Work with students exhibiting behavioral challenges to provide interventions and support.
  • Track and monitor student behavior, analyze patterns, and inform improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to sustain a classroom environment conducive to learning and mutual respect.
  • Provide coaching and professional development in classroom management, culturally responsive teaching, and building positive relationships.
  • Support teachers in responding to behavioral issues.
  • Serve as liaison between school and community, building partnerships.
  • Support student leadership programs and mentor student leaders.
  • Implement initiatives that promote student voice and agency.
  • Collect and analyze data related to school climate, student behavior, and academic performance.
  • Use data to identify improvement areas and measure effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports to school leadership on progress.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement behavior management systems and restorative practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion practices.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse student body and staff.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking for extended periods; bending, stooping, lifting materials; reaching for high shelves; using manual dexterity for tasks such as writing and using technology; communicating clearly and effectively with students; climbing stairs in multi‑level buildings.
