COMPRESSION MECHANIC 1

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing basic maintenance functions, procedures, activities and responsibilities associated with working on gas compression packages and generators with guidance. Duties include learning from and assisting other technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of gas fired and electric‑driven compressor and generator packages.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
  • Recognize and address potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and effectively communicate to QB Energy Management.
  • Perform preventative maintenance per defined schedule/interval in a timely manner and document maintenance records in an electronic database.
  • Actively participate in a team environment by acquiring and applying required qualifications, supporting the development of team members and assisting with planning and problem solving.
  • Must be able to take callouts on a scheduled rotation.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a group.
  • Working with Maintenance I&E Technicians on equipment repairs.
  • Managing mechanical maintenance work within the facilities to ensure that work is performed in accordance with QB Energy safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
  • Strong mechanical repair/troubleshooting skills
Qualifications Education
  • Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED.
  • CAT/Ariel Training a plus.
  • Waukesha Training a plus.
Licenses / Professional Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle records acceptable by QB Energy’s insurance carrier.
Industry Experience
  • Mechanic background on engines, and compressors is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Oil and Gas equipment including compressors, generators, and pumps.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply Tech manuals and troubleshooting procedures.
Compensation

The base compensation for this role in this location is targeted between $30 – $38 per hour. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the range listed above.
