The Tech One Program (TOP) is a structured career development program for entry-level wind technicians, developed in partnership with industry leaders Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas.
Job Summary:
The TOP Wind Service Technicians will undergo exclusive wind safety and technical training accredited by the Global Wind Organization (GWO). They will primarily work at wind site locations near their homes, on service teams to perform safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance. Reporting directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician, they will perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine equipment safely and efficiently.
They will maintain and repair machinery mainly used in power generation, turbines, and generators, under supervision, especially regarding electrical work. Additional duties may be assigned to meet customer needs and align with Sky Climber's mission and values.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications & Experience:
- Authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
- High School Diploma / GED and an Associate Degree in Mechanical or Wind Energy from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Successful completion of safety and technical training including Basic Safety, Tower Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, LOTO, and other relevant courses
- Background check and drug screening clearance
Desired Characteristics:

- Strong mechanical and electrical skills preferred
- Ability to read and understand English, diagrams, and wiring schematics
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Initiative, adaptability, teamwork, and good communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb 300-foot wind towers multiple times daily
- Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
- Meet weight requirements (250-300 lbs.) including PPE
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, kneel, squat, and handle up to 50 lbs
- Successful completion of climb and rescue training
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures
- Perform mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades
- Ensure work meets customer requirements
- Document work activities
- Report violations and submit progress reports
- Repair or replace parts
- Use tools safely and effectively
- Work independently on maintenance projects
- Dismantle and assemble machinery and components
- Travel up to 25% as needed
- Work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required
- Work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
