Sr. Advanced Materials and Process Engineer

Location:

Broomfield, CO (on‑site with up to 2 remote days per week).

Quantinuum seeks a highly skilled Senior Advanced Materials and Process Engineer to design, develop, and test advanced materials and manufacturing processes for complex systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and manufacturability. The role collaborates with R&D, manufacturing, and quality to establish standard practices for material selection and process controls across hardware platforms.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum.
  • 4+ years of experience in advanced materials and process engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, or granted asylum/refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements, candidates must not be a People's Republic of China or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with complex hardware systems (aerospace, optical, cryogenic, photonics, electronics).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and scale processes from R&D to production.
  • Hands‑on problem solving and willingness to engage with R&D and production teams.
  • Knowledge of failure analysis tools (SEM, XPS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in GD&T and process validation.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with quality inspections and vendor management for passive and active optics (lenses, prisms, optical fibers, electro‑optic modulators, lasers).
  • Experience with reliability testing of optical components and opto‑mechanical systems.
  • Experience with data analytics for hardware performance.
  • Strong relationships and partnership skills.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of working independently.
Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $127,000–$158,000 annually (actual compensation may vary based on skills, education, and experience).

• Non‑incentive eligible.
