Job DescriptionThe Metallurgist will be primarily responsible for providing technical support to ADR (Adsorption, Desorption, and Refining) facilities and geo‑metallurgical test work. This position is integral to optimizing gold recovery processes, ensuring metallurgical targets are met, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with operations, maintenance, and laboratory teams and includes responsibilities in metallurgical accounting, reagent consumption, and process optimization.

- Produce and analyze daily and weekly metallurgical reports, identifying and explaining plant efficiency variances.
- Collaborate effectively with operations and maintenance teams while maintaining positive and productive relationships.
- Develop and monitor process OPEX forecasts and budgets.
- Support the refinery team to understand gold refining processes and contribute to gold security improvements.
- Assist with implementation and documentation of geo‑metallurgy program standards in collaboration with the corporate innovation team.
- Monitor and analyze key performance (KPIs) for processing operations and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, providing guidance and coaching to peers.
- Design, execute, and report on metallurgical test programs including laboratory and pilot‑scale tests.
- Contribute to the development of flow sheets, mass and energy balances, and design criteria.
- Ensure accurate translation of test work outcomes into final design and operational practices.
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of new technologies.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and support a safe working environment.
- Ensure operating and metallurgical reports are consistent, accurate, and aligned with corporate reporting standards.
- Provide technical support to processing and capital projects.
- Identify and act on opportunities to reduce operational waste and inefficiencies.

- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of metallurgical experience.
- At least 3 years of operational experience at a mine site.
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing and hydrometallurgy, particularly ADR circuits.
- Solid understanding of plant operations, maintenance coordination, and metallurgical test work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with historian data retrieval and analysis.
- VBA and SQL proficiency are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Experience mentoring and coaching technical staff is highly desirable.
- Role is based at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine, located in Teller County, Colorado.
- The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations and must be physically capable of working at this altitude.

For applicants residing in CO the salary range for this position starts at $108,000 to $118,000. Benefits include 401(k), medical/dental/vision insurance, employee share purchase plan, PTO, and STI.
