Safety and Logistics Specialist (supporting the Air Force Research Lab)
Join ASRC Federal to support the In‑Space Propulsion Branch of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards AFB, CA. This full‑time role ensures compliance with Department of the Air Force and Cal‑OSHA safety policies, manages hazardous material inventories, and administers logistics programs for the branch.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure full compliance with DOAF and Cal‑OSHA safety policies across the RDT&E facilities.
- Work with AFRL Safety to schedule routine inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Proactively manage occupational safety through hazard identification, PPE assessment, and scheduled inspections in collaboration with external offices.
- Participate in area operations meetings to confirm personnel protection.
- Manage Haz Mat inventory and maintain up‑to‑date Safety Data Sheets.
- Coordinate hazardous activities with research engineers, test crews, and the local safety office.
- Maintain a safety‑first culture amid a high‑pace technology acquisition environment.
- Perform safety reviews at all Branch locations to keep safety data and sign‑in sheets current.
- Assist with incident investigations in collaboration with external offices.
- Manage the branch’s explosives safety program (ADWSR), including inspections, staff training, and hazard mitigation.
- Oversee Department of the Air Force logistics programs, including equipment inventories, TMDE, tool control, and PM/PMI.
- Minimum of 2 years professional safety experience in industrial or laboratory settings.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of safety‑related experience.
- Experience with munitions, energetic materials, or weapons safety.
- Familiarity with chemical, electrical, and physical workplace hazards.
