Health Aging Support Tech- Public Health; El Jebel
Location: El Jebel
Hiring Range: $22.30-$26.20. The maximum for this position is $30.11.
The Healthy Aging relief worker provides substitution for the El Jebel Healthy Aging Coordinator, doing minimal duties to assure that the meal site runs efficiently and effectively in the absence of the coordinator. The position would require duties which include setting up the meal site for service, welcoming participants to lunch, assisting with lunch service, communicating with other staff and cleaning up after lunch.

As needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays to support our El Jebel Healthy Aging site (On-Call Position)

Essential Functions:
Meal Site Set Up: 20%
- Unlock the site
- Set out newsletters, attendance sheet and donation boxes
- Check the answering machine
- Share important news/announcements with participants
- Set up exercise equipment
- After exercise class, set up the dining room
Maintain Site During Lunch: 60%
- Collect any required meal fees
- Oversee volunteers
- Welcome and assist participants to the site
- Make verbal announcements during lunch
- Follow safe-food handling practices when serving meals, setting up and assisting with home-delivered meal packing
- Report any incidents or accidents to the Healthy Aging Manager within 24 hours of occurance
Site Clean Up: 20%
- Assist participants out of site
- Assist with washing dishes in a commercial kitchen
- Count and secure donations
- Vacuum room
- Take out trash
- Complete paperwork and reports and lock up room
Fostering a positive organizational culture and supporting departmental priorities: 100%
- Communicating with transparency, openness and trust
Other duties as assigned: continuous
- Observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials safely and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Serves the community by demonstrating Eagle County Government mission and core values and following relevant policies and procedures.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:
- No education requirement. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
:
- Past experience working with older adults
- Good customer service skills
- Physical demands—This position requires the ability to lift 10-15 lbs., push loaded carts and be on your feet for extended periods
- Work location requirements—El Jebel Community Center
