Are you looking for an opportunity to bring your horse experience to a supportive veterinary team that prioritizes employee happiness, job satisfaction, and work-life balance? Check out Front Range Equine Performance (FREP)!
About UsFREP is a growing Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Practice based in the Northern Colorado Front Range with monthly trips to Steamboat Springs and Laramie, WY. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team and grow with us as we expand our clinic and rehabilitation center in Berthoud, CO. We have amazing patients and clients of all disciplines, from high-end English and Western performance horses to the companion mini donkey.
We pride ourselves on offering all of our patients the best in chiropractic care and state-of-the-art sports medicine to empower patients to realize their peak performance and remain comfortable while doing so.
We are a group of people who genuinely enjoy each other’s company and are extremely protective of the unique, supportive culture we have developed. We believe this environment allows us to better communicate with each other and our clients to create a truly unique work culture that is often hard to find in equine medicine.
About the RoleOur Veterinary Assistants/Technicians play a key role in our practice and are irreplaceable in allowing our days to run smoothly.
A typical day in the rehabilitation barn involves performing basic physical exams, administering medications, feeding hay/grain, cleaning stalls, performing dynamic mobility exercises, treatments, hand walking, and assisting in the training of patients to use Vitafloor, solarium, and water treadmill. The successful candidate will need to have a positive attitude and be able to communicate effectively to help manage the wrenches that occasionally derail our daily plans.
This role requires the individual to be physically able to jog horses, work in all weather conditions, and be able to multitask. This role also requires participation in a rotating weekend schedule between rehabilitation assistants.
Our future team members will be positive, personable, and reliable professionals who want to expand their skills as members of this supportive team. In addition to being a “horse person,” comfortable around all types of horses and possessing exceptional horse handling skills, they must also be able to relate to clients and exercise discretion. We seek a team member who takes pride in him/herself, their work, and has the initiative to go above and beyond required duties to exceed customer expectations and to be a partner in growing the business.
We desire someone who has a drive to learn and develop themselves professionally with a long-term career goal set in equine veterinary medicine. We believe in helping to develop our team members, whether through continuing education or providing employer training. Additional requirements include a background check and a working interview.
