This position is ideal for an experienced healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services professional who enjoys combining patient advocacy, detailed case management, regulatory compliance, financial calculations, data accuracy, and cross-departmental coordination .

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking a highly organized and compassionate Coordinator:
Hospital Discounted Care to administer the day-to-day operations of PSMC's Hospital Discounted Care (HDC) and related financial assistance workflows .

The Coordinator manages the HDC process from account identification through screening, application, eligibility determination, payment-plan coordination, reporting, and audit support. This position serves as the central operational resource for ensuring uninsured patients, subsequently uninsured patients, and insured patients who request assistance receive timely, understandable, and properly documented access to available coverage and financial assistance options. The Coordinator works closely with Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Cycle, Finance, Informatics, Health Information Management, applicable hospital-based professionals, Compliance, and PSMC's contracted HDC vendor. Because Colorado's Hospital Discounted Care requirements may change over time, this position must also be comfortable adapting workflows, procedures, and responsibilities as program requirements evolve.

• Serve as a key operational resource for PSMC's Hospital Discounted Care and financial assistance programs
• Help protect patient rights and prevent inappropriate billing or collection activity
• Build specialized expertise in Colorado Hospital Discounted Care, public‑benefit eligibility, patient financial assistance, and healthcare revenue cycle
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Patient Financial Services, Finance, Compliance, HIM, Informatics, Patient Access, and other departments
• Play an important role in regulatory reporting, audit readiness, process improvement, and staff education
