Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer / Linux with well-rounded Linux Infrastructure Engineering expertise to join an agile product team. The Ideal candidate will have experience in both traditional infrastructure design; provisioning of platform, storage, and networking resources for existing on-premise infrastructure hardware that ideally also has experience in emerging Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops  & Modernized technologies. The Principal Platform Engineer would be engaged in the design and implementation of the system updates and upgrades with Focus on the Linux Server / Linux OS expertise and will interface both with the Program’s Sr.

Management and the Customer for Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) as required.

The Senior Platform Engineer / Linux would be involved with development, implementation of traditional compute/network/storage systems and related deployments, as well as support improving the program platform’s over-arching design through new emerging technologies. This includes existing operating systems and existing server hardware designs, as well as supporting the design and development of new modernized system architectures.

Note This position is based in Aurora CO. and work will be performed at the onsite Facility requiring occasional travel to the customer site for upgrade and implementation activities as necessary.

What You Will Do

• You will leverage company and industry with the best practices and capabilities to develop and communicate implementation, of infrastructure solutions
• You will maintain existing systems through Linux Based Tools and manage the COTS stack on the system to support program needs
• You will assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool such as VMWare
• You will ensure that the COTS stack and versioning is consistent across the platform; and will work with the team to make updates as necessary
• You will travel to customer sites to assist in system updates and deliveries when necessary

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and a minimum 5 years of related work experience
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g. scrum, SAFe)
• Experience with VMware
• Experience with programming languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go)
• Current TS/SCI CI Poly issued security clearance is required on day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Linux LDAP for creating Linux based accounts and managing roles and permissions
• Experience with Linux Bash scripting for task automation and management of existing scripts
• Experience with modernization technologies such as Chef, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher etc
• Experience with System Hardening
• Experience with AWS technologies
• Experience with Cisco IOS / Fiber Switch Familiarity
• Experience with Cisco Server Hardware / and Firewall implementation
• Current Security Plus certification or obtain within 90 days of onboarding
