About the Role

The Project Controls Analyst - Data & Business Intelligence manages monthly project controls audits across all construction projects and supports the transition to a fully automated audit process. This role applies strong data-modeling, analytical, and business intelligence skills to organize information from CMiC, Microsoft Power BI, and the company’s centralized reporting database into accurate, scalable reports and dashboards. The analyst works closely with IT, Project Controls, and project teams to define reporting needs, improve data access and reliability, and increase visibility into project performance.

A willingness to collaborate with IT and develop additional technical capabilities, including ETL knowledge, is essential to success in this role.

Essential Functions
  • Manage the monthly project controls audit cycle for all active construction projects, including data validation, exception review, follow-up, and leadership reporting.
  • Develop and maintain automated audit reports, data models, workflows, and dashboards using CMiC and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Lead the conversion of manual audit activities into a reliable, repeatable, and fully automated process in collaboration with IT and internal or external technical resources.
  • Model, reconcile, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, control gaps, recurring findings, and data-quality issues.
  • Partner closely with IT to define data-access needs, reporting requirements, business rules, and desired end states for solutions using CMiC and the centralized enterprise reporting database.
  • Translate audit and project controls needs into clear, concise, and actionable requests, including data definitions, calculations, technical specifications, and visualization requirements.
  • Validate report outputs against source systems and business rules; troubleshoot issues collaboratively with IT and system administrators.
  • Work with project teams to resolve discrepancies, strengthen compliance, document reporting logic, and communicate actionable insights.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, business, construction management, engineering, finance, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in data analysis, business intelligence, dashboard development, and modeling data to support reporting and business decisions.
  • Strong Microsoft Power BI skills, including data modeling, Power Query, dashboard design, and report publishing.
  • Ability to understand source data, define relationships and business rules, and structure data into reliable models that support audit and reporting needs.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to collaborate closely with IT, system administrators, vendors, and business stakeholders to develop and support reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, quality-control, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain business needs and intended outcomes.
