Machine Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator – Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator may perform any of the jobs listed below.

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.
• Water Treatment:
  Treat process water by adding flocculent to disperse solids. Check PH before discharging to city. Follow SOP. Daily log all discharge to city with supervisor's approval.
• Sorter:
  Inspect tile on the dry side and responsible for the sealer area including cleaning the sealer booth.
• Strapping Machine:
  Responsible for running strapping machine to secure pallets of tile.
• Kiln Exit Operator:
  Responsible for quality checks of the tile and packaging of the tile.
• Clean equipment and areas daily. Notify supervisor or Lead person of any problems identified.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Basic mathematical skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide).

• Able to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions, required.
• 6 months to 1 year of color or tile manufacturing experience required.
• 6 months Forklift driving experience desired.

• Complete repetitive movements such as typing.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to efficiently multi-task.
• Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.

$21.32 per hour

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be offered as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
