Lead Machinist – Weekend Shift | Ursa Major | Berthoud, CO
Pay: $36–$57/hour (plus relocation assistance)
Shift: Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Ursa Major designs and manufactures advanced rocket propulsion systems for space, hypersonic applications, and missile systems. We’re solving some of the most challenging manufacturing problems in aerospace and defense.

As a Lead Machinist, you’ll work with cutting-edge CNC technology – including multi-axis DMG Mori mills, mill-turn machines, and high-performance alloys (titanium & nickel superalloys) – to create mission-critical components for next-generation propulsion.

• CNC Expertise: Program and machine tight-tolerance rocket engine components on 3-axis, 5-axis, and mill-turn machines.
• Tooling & Workholding: Design efficient fixturing solutions for intricate aerospace parts.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
• Maintain Standards: Drive 5S, safety, quality, and continuous improvement in the shop.

• 5+ years CNC machining experience (aerospace or precision machining preferred).
• Prior leadership experience in a machine shop environment.
• Skilled with multi-axis machining, mill-turn operations, and CAM (hyper
  
  MILL).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, high-speed machining, and CNC probing routines.
• Experience with DMG Mori equipment and titanium/nickel alloys is highly desired.
