Seasonal Elevator Operator

Seasonal Elevator Operator at Skyland Grain, LLC – this position is currently seasonal/temporary, with potential for full-time opportunities where applicable.

• Dumps grain and/or loads railcars or trucks; cleans up grain spills.
• Inspects grain for insects, moisture, and foreign material during unloading from trucks.
• Reads grain temperatures at various levels in storage tanks in a timely manner.
• Starts conveyors, selects flow pipes, sets trippers, and selects storage tanks to convey grain to storage or destination.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on elevator equipment.
• Assists with inventory controls as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains clean vehicles and equipment; reports issues.
• Promotes teamwork and effective communication within the company and at the branch location.
• Maintains clean facilities and complies with state and federal workplace safety regulations.
• Attends training and safety meetings; provides excellent customer service.
• Communicates effectively with customers, employees, and management; maintains safety awareness and follows safety policies and reporting requirements.
• Presents a clean and professional appearance; performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to multitask and be mechanically inclined.
• Requires outdoor work in various weather conditions and the ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

• General compensation range is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
