Job Summary:

This dual-role position operates encapsulation equipment and performs preventive and on-demand maintenance for production equipment and facility systems. The position supports product quality, equipment reliability, regulatory documentation, and timely completion of production and maintenance work.

Training needed:

• Encapsulation SOPs, work instructions, batch records, and Bosch and semi-automatic equipment operation.
• Preventive-maintenance procedures, Fiix documentation, facility systems, tool safety, and authorized diagnostics and repairs.
• cGMP, food safety, sanitation, allergen control, calibration, and applicable regulatory-record requirements.
• Haz Com, required PPE, electrical and machine safety, emergency procedures, and lockout/tagout as applicable.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Encapsulation Operations: Set up, operate, disassemble, clean, and reassemble Bosch and semi-automatic encapsulation equipment according to approved formulas and SOPs.
• Production and Quality: Meet production goals while maintaining product quality, performing required checks, submitting samples, and completing BPRs accurately.
• Operator Support: Train and assist new operators and temporary employees and provide production data or materials support when requested.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on production equipment and facility systems using Fiix or other assigned systems.
• Demand Maintenance: Diagnose and address authorized equipment, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, door, and facility issues and coordinate outside vendors when necessary.
• Records and Compliance: Maintain maintenance, calibration, inspection, and regulatory records and ensure required files are retained and distributed appropriately.
• Tools and Supplies: Maintain assigned tools and maintenance supplies and submit purchase requests for approval before purchases.
• Communication and Handoff: Communicate equipment status, open work orders, safety concerns, and required technical documentation to affected departments.
• Additional Duties: Support warehouse, breakroom, office, production, and facility maintenance needs and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Food Safety and Quality Requirements

• Follow all cGMP, food-safety, allergen-control, sanitation, calibration, contamination-prevention, and PPE requirements during production and maintenance work.
• Protect exposed product, food-contact surfaces, and materials from tools, lubricants, debris, chemicals, and other maintenance-related contamination hazards.
• Immediately stop and report suspected contamination, unsafe conditions, calibration failures, equipment malfunctions, or repairs that could affect product safety or quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The requirements listed below represent the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies expected for this position.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; encapsulation and production- or facility-maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with knowledge of encapsulation equipment and general facility systems.
• Ability to read SOPs, BPRs, blueprints, manuals, diagrams, safety information, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to use Fiix or related software and maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and production records.
• Ability to safely use scales, pallet jacks, hand tools, power tools, and assigned diagnostic equipment after required training.
