A specialized opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses within oncology to contribute to a renowned Blood Cancer Unit focused on providing excellent care to hematology patients. This contract position requires a compassionate and adaptable RN to support a dedicated team managing a patient population with complex, chronic oncology needs.

Location:

Based in Longmont, CO, with the unit situated in Denver, this role offers exposure to a highly respected Blood Cancer Unit known for its commitment to quality and a positive team culture. The unit has received recognition for excellence in evidence-based practice, patient safety, and nursing certification.
Responsibilities:

* Provide attentive nursing care to oncology patients within an 18-bed Blood Cancer Unit

* Administer medications, blood products, and electrolyte replacements adhering to strict safety protocols

* Perform or assist with specialized procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies (with or without sedation), and thoracentesis

* Collaborate with the nursing team and interdisciplinary partners to maintain high standards of patient care and safety

* Follow unit policies regarding chemo/biotherapy handling, ensuring proper certification prior to administration

* Utilize medical equipment including tele monitoring, bladder scanners, and infusion pumps effectively

Qualifications / Desired

Experience:

* Current and valid RN license

* Compassion for oncology patients with chronic conditions and acute hematology

* Quick learner who can adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment

* Preferred:
Chemo and biotherapy certification

* Preferred:
Step-down unit experience due to use of standing orders and acute patient care

* Familiarity with administering complex medication regimens and use of electronic medical records
