Come join our management team! Adara Living is looking for a Staff Development & Infection Prevention Nurse (IP / SDC) to join our nursing team. We are a privately owned 200+ long-term care patient facility located in beautiful Broomfield, CO.

The IP / SDC Registered nurse plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of patient care by leading educational initiatives and infection control programs within healthcare settings. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating staff training programs that promote best practices in infection prevention and control. The nurse will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor infection rates, investigate outbreaks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

By fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning, this role directly contributes to reducing healthcare-associated infections and improving overall patient outcomes. Ultimately, the Staff Development & Infection Prevention Nurse serves as a key resource and advocate for evidence-based practices that protect both patients and healthcare personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
• Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in acute care or related healthcare settings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control principles and practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
• Experience in staff education, training, or development within a healthcare environment.
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and infection surveillance software.
• Strong background in quality improvement methodologies and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Design, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive educational programs focused on infection prevention and control for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Conduct regular assessments of staff competencies related to infection control protocols and provide targeted training to address identified gaps.
• Monitor infection surveillance data, analyze trends, and collaborate with infection control committees to develop strategies for outbreak prevention and management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as accreditation standards related to infection prevention.
• Serve as a resource and consultant to healthcare teams regarding infection control policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in the development and revision of infection prevention policies and protocols based on current evidence and guidelines.
• Lead initiatives to promote hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, and other standard precautions across the organization.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and regulatory bodies on infection control activities and outcomes.
