Under general supervision, this position provides patron services within assigned program or facility areas.

- Performs front-line, day-to-day services in any combination of the following divisions:
- Childcare
- Climbing Wall
- Maintains order and overall control in assigned program area; monitor participants within program area.
- Monitors and maintains the overall appearance and functionality of facilities, venues, and program areas to provide safe conditions for patrons and staff; performs maintenance tasks, remedies safety concerns, and communicates any issues to a supervisor.
- Ensures all required documentation is completed.
- Assists with opening, closing, and inventory procedures as needed.
- Responds to emergency situations and assists in the evacuation of program area. Accurately completes incident reports as needed.
- Ensures compliance with Town and Departmental policies and procedures.
- Reports suspected abuse cases to supervisor and the appropriate governing bodies.
- Assists in setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, A/V equipment, sports, or recreation equipment for events, programs, and rentals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Examples of Essential Duties for the Childcare
- Maintains adult/child ratios and finds coverage for any missed shifts.
Examples of Essential Duties for the Climbing Wall
- Performs safety orientations and ensures all climbing wall users are classified and capable of climbing.
- Performs instruction in safe and proper climbing wall use, assists climbers during supervised climbing times.
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
Minimal, Additional Qualification – Childcare:
- Two (2) years of experience with children or a related field is preferred.
Minimal, Additional Qualification – Climbing Wall:
- Experience climbing (within the last five years), preferred.

- Skill in verbal and written communication, including issuing and following clear instructions.
- Skill in basic housekeeping tasks and in the use of general cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Skill in operating computers, modern office equipment, and small/light tools.
- Skill in the provision of childcare and climbing wall services.
- Ability to facilitate group activities while maintaining a safe and fun environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, supervisors, Town officials, community organizers, the public, and contractors.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
