Lead Tournant at Vail Resorts
We are seeking an experienced Lead Tournant to manage fast-paced culinary operations across our resort kitchens. The role involves leading a line crew, ensuring food safety, inventory management, and delivering superior guest service.

The Lead Tournant is the leader on the line, running various stations in a fast‑paced culinary environment. Responsibilities include preparing food per standardized recipes, managing banquet operations, receiving and accounting for deliveries, maintaining storage areas, and supporting the chef(s) in inventory and par level management.
Job Specifications- Starting Wage: $22.00/hr – $26.03/hr

- Work all stations as required.
- Develop and train line staff, including interns, to a standard performance level.
- Communicate with the on‑duty Chef to ensure proper service according to the assigned shift.
- Assist in maintaining smooth kitchen operation during the shift.
- Supervise and coordinate the line crew to achieve assigned tasks according to kitchen standards.
- Cook and prepare food to order on a daily basis.
- Assist in taking monthly inventory.
- Assist in controlling labor and food costs.
- Maintain awareness of fire, safety, and health procedures; assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
- Report mechanical issues to the engineering department in a timely manner.
- Ensure safe and clean working conditions for all personnel.
- Act as a role model to others.
- Maintain a 100% satisfaction rate and take full responsibility for food quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience.
- Previous supervisory experience is helpful.
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
- Culinary degree or certification – preferred.
- Current certification in the state Professional Food Handler Program – preferred.
