Our bakers are crucial to helping create the overall experience for our campers and staff. Sanborn is a fun, fast paced, energetic place to work. The camp bakers are responsible for dessert prep, supporting the preparation of meals that meet a wide variety of dietary needs, cleaning and sanitation practices, assisting with inventory, kitchen organization, and working with camp counseling staff.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
- Ability to work with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance
- Excellent working knowledge of kitchen appliances, their operations, and cooking methods
- Previous bakery experience helpful
- Willingness to learn is essential — training is provided
- Knowledge of Serv Safe requirements
- Serv Safe certification preferred
- Adherence to the Teller County Public Health food service guidelines
- Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between your kitchen coworkers and the extended camp community
- Assist with preparation and packing of snacks, desserts, and cookouts when scheduled
- Salary starting at $15.00 - $16.50/hour
- 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.

- Meals on site during shift when kitchens are open and in season

Job Responsibilities
- Prep, bake, and serve energy-filled, delicious, and attractive desserts and breads for campers and staff
- Ensure that allergy and dietary restrictions are met for each meal. This often requires preparation of several baked goods for each meal to accommodate dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery
- Comply with proper sanitation and safety procedures
- Wash dishes when needed
- Assist cooks with other preparations when needed
- Assist in stocking and food orders
- Notify head cook when ingredients and supplies need to be supplied
