Kitchen Leader at Chipotle Mexican Grill
OverviewThe Kitchen Leader role ensures the quality and safety of Chipotle’s food, maintains a clean and organized kitchen, and trains crew members to become future leaders.
The OpportunityAs Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, sauté vegetables, and manage the kitchen daily. You’ll order supplies, train others, and support teamwork across back‑side and front‑side crew.
What You’ll Do- Ensuring food quality by cooking and preparing food to order, following kitchen procedures.
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues.
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house crew.
- Developing crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders.
- Communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great service and throughput.
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair; making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired quickly.
- Ensuring that the kitchen and all crew meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents.
- Completing safety forms such as MSDS and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
- Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) of the location.
- High school diploma.
