BSU Electronics is a 35+ year old, ITAR-registered contract electronics manufacturer building high-reliability PCBAs for government agencies and advanced-technology OEMs.
We build mission critical parts for underwater autonomous naval vessels, moon landings, anti-missile drones and roller coaster rides, to name a few. Our engineering heavy team take on the complex builds that other shops turn away. NPI? Quick turn? We’ve got you.
Few places in the world concentrate as much space and aerospace hardware demand as El Segundo and the South Bay. It’s one of our fastest growing geographies, and that’s the territory you'll own. This is an exceptional opportunity to ride the unprecedented wave of investment and innvoation in SoCal right now.
Our ideal candidate has spent a few years in space or aerospace, in engineering, test, quality, program management, supply chain, or sales. You know how flight and defense hardware gets bought, who has a say, and what a supplier has to prove before earning a PO.
Now you want a role where your network and your initiative are the job. No internal politics, red tape or confused incentives- you plan your time and eat what you kill.
What You’ll Do- Become a known face in El Segundo’s aerospace community by attending industry events, meetups, conferences, and customer sites, and following up relentlessly.
- Build your own pipeline from your network, AI-driven prospecting tools, and the phone. This is not an inside-sales seat, and there’s no inherited book.
- Turn relationships into RFQs. Your core measure is qualified RFQs from new California based customers.
- Partner with BSU engineering and quality to represent our capabilities credibly to technical buyers, from program engineers to supply chain leads.
- Carry opportunities from first conversation through qualification to a quoted, PO-ready RFQ.
- Travel as needed: mostly local face time across SoCal, plus periodic trips to our Austin facility and trade shows. Expand across the west coast over time at your discretion.
- Exceptionally proactive. You don’t wait for leads to show up. You walk into the room, introduce yourself, and follow up the next morning.
- Technology extrovert. You love meeting new builders and innovators and learning about their products, getting under the hood to understand what they need from their supplier and showing we’ve got it.
- In the game. 2+ years of experience in the space or aerospace industry under your belt. You already have a network in the El Segundo / South Bay aerospace community, and you’re excited to keep building it.
- Sales or business development experience is a plus, not a requirement. Show us a track record of initiative, such as an idea you sold, a project you pushed through, or a goal you outworked everyone to hit.
- An engineering degree or technical training is a plus. You’re comfortable having early stage conversations about products, BOMs and build plans before it’s ready to hand over to our quoting team.
- U.S. citizenship required. No exceptions- customers often require this before you can visit their facility.
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission, with significant upside tied to hitting RFQ and revenue milestones.
- 401(k)
- 401(k) matching
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
- Work remotely and flexibly- we pay based on outcome
- Are you a U.S. citizen? This is a requirement for this role.
- Do you have at least 2 years of experience working in the space or aerospace industry?
- Do you live in, or within a reasonable commute of, El Segundo, CA?
- Do you currently have professional contacts at aerospace or space companies in the El Segundo / South Bay area?
- Have you been involved in the RFQ or supplier selection process, on either the buying or selling side?
