Job SummaryThe Carpenter – Senior Level (Master) is an expert professional responsible for leading complex steel framing, window installation, floor installation, and Hardi Board/siding installation projects for modular homes at Mytikas Steel’s production facility. Cross‑trained in four interchangeable subcategories—Steel Framer, Window Installer, Floor Installer, and Hardi Board/Siding Installer (Interior & Exterior)—the Master Carpenter oversees quality control, trains and mentors junior carpenters, and drives process improvements.
This role operates with limited supervision and plays a key leadership role in the Carpenter category.
- Steel Framer:
Oversee complex steel framing tasks with precision and quality. - Window Installer:
Lead window installations, ensuring high standards. - Floor Installer:
Manage complex flooring projects with quality control. - Hardi Board/Siding Installer (Interior & Exterior):
Lead Hardi Board installations, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Steel Framer Tasks:
- Oversee complex steel framing tasks, ensuring frames are level, plumb, and meet design specifications.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure structural integrity and compliance with standards.
- Train and mentor junior framers on techniques, safety, and best practices.
- Window Installer Tasks:
- Lead complex window installations, ensuring precision, fit, and proper sealing.
- Verify installations meet design specifications and industry standards through quality control.
- Train and mentor junior installers on window installation techniques and safety.
- Floor Installer Tasks:
- Manage complex flooring projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to design plans.
- Perform quality control to verify flooring meets specifications and standards.
- Train and mentor junior installers on flooring techniques and safety practices.
- Hardi Board/Siding Installer Tasks:
- Lead complex Hardi Board installations for interior and exterior applications, ensuring precision and sealing.
- Conduct quality control to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Train and mentor junior installers on Hardi Board techniques and safety protocols.
- General Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies, conducting regular safety checks.
- Collaborate with production teams to align tasks with project goals and schedules.
- Lead cross‑training initiatives to ensure team versatility across all subcategories.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; advanced training or certification in carpentry or construction preferred. - Experience:
5+ years of experience in carpentry, steel framing, window installation, floor installation, or siding installation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. - Technical
Skills:- Expert proficiency in steel framing, window installation, floor installation, and Hardi Board/siding installation.
- Advanced ability to read blueprints and design specifications.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality control, and equipment maintenance.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Strong problem‑solving.
