ABOUT THE ROLE
The BIM specialist will assist BIM leads/manager to ensure that modeling/coordination efforts are completed in a timely manner for all jobs. Will also help with other various tasks to ensure that any pertinent information is delivered to the field team to successfully complete field installation.

Sturgeon Electric's Commercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Work with office and project staff to develop BIM models of new and existing electrical systems within commercial buildings. These models are used to provide project coordination with other trades, dimensioned shop drawings for prefabrication and field installation, takeoffs using Revit schedules, assist with preconstruction efforts, and as-built record drawings.
- Perform modeling primarily utilizing Revit in multiple types of projects.
- Collaboration will be accomplished using Navisworks Manage while performing coordination / clash detection.
- Provide dimensioned shop drawings for field installation and prefabrication, as well as provide as-built record drawings at the end of the project.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location.
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards, if applicable.
- Electrical and general construction knowledge is preferred to understand constructability of electrical systems.
- Revit experience and detailed understanding of its processing including setting up and maintaining jobs, files, families, schedules, and work sets.
- Proficient in Navisworks and Bluebeam.

- Ability to use most Revit tools within a project; must be able to utilize basic tools associated with electrical design such as conduit and cable tray.
- Capable of extracting accurate and detailed information from Revit model through schedules; this effort would identify quantities and values for construction materials.
- Navisworks Manage experience and comprehensive understanding of its function by setting up and coordinating projects, files, and clash detection.
- Must be reliable, punctual, self‑motivated, and have a good attitude.
- Willingness to learn additional software as required by project.
- Salary $65,000-$85,000 / year
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
