The Class A CDL Driver operates a semi‑truck and trailer to transport feed to farm facility locations, animals from facility to facility or to the plant or market under the direction of the Dispatcher/Supervisor. The driver adheres to all company and Department of Transportation safety rules and regulations, observes state and city speed and safety regulations, and follows company customer service and safety policies.
Responsibilities& Tasks
- Perform job assignments as determined by Supervisor (Dispatcher).
- Maintain accurate paperwork.
- Drive truck with trailer to destination, load/unload trailers with and without assistance.
- Meet all DOT requirements, including random alcohol/drug testing program.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers such as farm and plant employees.
- Comply with all Processes, Procedures and Policies, following Bio‑Security flow.
- Instruct and direct driver trainees as assigned.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and inspections of equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water), report findings to supervisor and take appropriate action.
- Report accidents immediately to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed.

Hourly: $24.00
Pay is based on years of experience.
Benefits- Insurance (medical, vision, dental, prescription drugs, and life insurance) – starts DOH.
- 401 K retirement program – Seaboard will match 100% of the first 3% contributed and 50% of the next 2% contributed to the plan after 1 year of employment.
- Vacation:
- 3 days (DOE to 1 year)
- 7 days (1+ year of service)
- 10 days (10+ years of service)
- Sick:
- 48 hours per calendar year
- Holidays – 6 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays after 90 days of employment
- Class A CDL License
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Clear motor vehicle record (MVR).
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
