Meat Cutter: main function of a cutter is to make the different cuts of meat following the guidelines and in compliance with company standards. Provide a prompt and excellent service to our customers. Stock and clean to meet the goal of the department.
Responsibilities- Smile and greet all customers and provide them with outstanding, prompt, and courteous service.
- Do the different cuts based in production and the instructions of the Department manager.
- Use tools and machinery safely; according to meat department safety polices at all time.
- Prepare meats with marinades and vegetables.
- Accommodate and fill display cases and coolers as required.
- Transport product to coolers, storage areas and worktables.
- Promotes sales by suggestive selling.
- A Respond to customer requests, preventing losses and promoting and practicing honesty, packaging, weighting, and pricing of cremeria, seafood and meat products.
- Notify department manager when supplies or product are needed.
- Ensure case temperatures are appropriate and communicate any temperature discrepancies to meat manager.
- Complete knowledge of all meat, seafood and cremeria product codes and use of product.
- Use the correct codes in the various measures of packages to comply with the laws of the state weights and measures.
- Assist and support the needs of dispatcher, fillers in cuts and questions 14. Assist in cleaning and sanitation of work area.
- Work safely, based on company policies and be aware of co-workers and customers safety at alltime.
- Work as a team member, assist co-workers when needed.
- Treat co-workers and customers respectfully at all times. Do no use profanity, offensive language and or gestures.
- Follow all health code regulations; ensure the highest standards of food safety, personal hygiene and sanitation are practiced.
- Follow dress code with your name and change apron and or coat when necessary.
- Abide all store rules, and company polices as stated in Company’s Employee Handbook.
- Contact your meat manager or store director regarding any questions, problems, or concerns.
- Do not use any machinery or equipment if you have not been trained or authorized.
- Notify meat manager immediately of any equipment failure.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have knowledge of all consumer products and meat cuts.
- Be familiar with the safe and effective use of tools and machines in the meat department.
- Basic understanding of English language.
- Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced crowded environment.
