• Provide excellent customer service to patients and laboratory customers, working closely with coworkers to meet the needs of physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Accurately and quickly perform a variety of duties within the clinical laboratory as required by specific work assignments.
• Respond to phone requests from customers and coworkers with clear and effective communication.
• Perform pre-analytical duties of specimen collection, order entry, and/or specimen processing, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and appropriate collection techniques.
• Use critical thinking to identify general specimen problems, resolve or direct them to the appropriate individual.
• Prepare specimens for referral to other laboratories.
• Inventory, order, and stock lab supplies.
• Prepare supplies for clients and printed patient reports for delivery by mail or courier.
• Maintain department equipment, utilize department computer systems, and document information as needed.
• Perform waived laboratory testing, following laboratory procedures for test performance, quality control, reagent preparation, and instrument maintenance.
• Follow all laboratory policies and procedures.

• High school graduate or equivalent with GED.
• Complete Laboratory Support Services and Lab Assistant classes within the first year of employment.
• Work rotating weekend/holiday schedules, as needed.
• Lift 40 pounds.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet all training requirements during the first six months.
• Visual acuity and color discrimination.

• Full Time Benefit Eligible – 8 am to 4:30 pm / 10 am to 6:30 pm – Days.
• 24/32 work schedule.
