Our Client is one of the leading communications equipment providers as well as one of the Nation’s largest Kenwood dealers in the United States. Offering a variety of products and services, they specialize in providing equipment and servicing clients from the Public Safety sector, Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, Industrial and everything in between.
Our Client is in immediate need of an Experienced Tower Climber/ RF Field Technician in the Columbia City area.
Responsibilities- Installation and removal of LMR, SCADA and Microwave radio systems on free standing towers and water tanks.
- Knowledge of equipment, climbing, rigging and safety procedures is a plus but can be taught.
- Basic working knowledge of Direct and Alternating electrical current.
- Install and maintain radio systems, including base stations, repeaters, mobile radios, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint radios and microwave radio systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair radio equipment, including diagnosing faults and replacing faulty components.
- Networking and routing knowledge to include LAN, WAN, OSPF and BGP
- Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols to include, Ethernet, ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, IGMP, ICMP and DHCP
- Knowledge of PLC/RTU communications protocols
- Diagnose, repair, and install antenna systems and RF filtering systems.
- Construction of electrical panels based on blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Diagnose, repair, and install DC and AC circuits.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of radio equipment.
- Research and evaluate system problems and recommend a solution.
- Work with the sales team to assist in coordinating project installation/deployments.
- Assist with the specifications and design of dispatch and remote communications installations.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after hours emergency call outs. Current rotation consists of approximately 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks. An additional daily incentive when on-call, whether called out or not.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the industry or similar industry is preferred
- Basic working knowledge of hand tools and power tool operation.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-hire drug screen/physical is a must
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel (overnights) when needed
- Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and clients daily
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to prioritize and multitask
