The Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for delivering the highest quality mechanical engineering solutions, aligned with scope, schedule, and technical requirements.

Organizational Structure:
Engineering is organized into Teams and Disciplines within the Innovative Solutions Division. The Mechanical Engineering Manager serves as the technical authority for the Mechanical Engineering Team, supporting all Innovative Solutions Teams and ensuring cross‑discipline technical integrity.

• Teams:
• Team 1 – Standards and Modularity:
  Builds and maintains engineering standards, modules, templates, and rules enabling repeatability and scale.
• Team 2 – Design:
  Executes project‑level engineering using established standards and less complex custom configurations.
• Team 3 – Advanced:
  Develops novel systems and resolves first‑of‑kind engineering challenges.
• Team 4 – Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering:
  Ensures manufacturability, safety, engineering intent, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout Production.

• Directly oversee and lead the Mechanical Engineering Team.
• Develop the Mechanical Engineering Team, aligning individual goals with company objectives.
• Hire and/or develop Mechanical Engineering Team members, including subject matter experts (SMEs) needed for current and future product lines.
• Deliver high‑quality mechanical engineering solutions aligned with project scope and customer expectations.
• Propose and support new mechanical engineering ideas and help implement them.
• Serve as the technical authority for all mechanical engineering work across all Innovation Solutions teams.
• Be accountable for the technical design of all physical and structural systems within the connected mobile operation center, ensuring they are safe, ergonomic, durable, and maintainable.
• Ensure mechanical systems integrate clearly with Electrical, IT, Human Factors, and Software Engineering requirements.
• Possess final authority on all matters of mechanical engineering technical correctness, including standards compliance, engineering methods, interface definitions, safety logic, control behavior, and cross‑discipline technical integrity.
• Require design changes when mechanical engineering standards or safety logic are not met.
• Provide appropriate mechanical engineering skillsets to each project to ensure successful execution.
• Support Team 1 in developing and maintaining mechanical design standards, modularity rules, templates, and libraries.
• Support Team 2 by ensuring new engineers are trained in mechanical standards and design methods.
• Support Team 3 by reviewing and contributing to first‑of‑kind engineering solutions, ensuring technical soundness.
• Support Team 4 by validating manufacturability, optimizing workflows, and ensuring designs are safe, repeatable, and production‑ready.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production to incorporate lessons learned into future product designs.
• Champion data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement throughout the Mechanical Engineering Team.
• Define and implement electronic systems and workflows that increase mechanical engineering efficiency.
• Communicate effectively across all departments to ensure the successful flow of mechanical engineering information.
• Model and reinforce Nomad Core Values in daily operations.
