• LPN with 1-4 years of experience: $24.00/hr
• LPN with 5-9 years of experience: $27.20/hr
• LPN with 10+ years of experience: $30.40/hr

Provides evidence-based nursing care utilizing the nursing process, principles, practices, and techniques of general nursing care as determined by Standards of Practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Screens for sick call, administers medications, and provides first aid and basic life support to patients and employees as needed.

Maintains open communication with security and treatment staff, providing input to assist in organizing treatment plans.

Records all pertinent information into the medical record and interfaces with other departments as needed.

Promotes continued competence through education and certification, focusing on correctional nursing.

Nurses must be able to work hours, days, and locations as assigned, and be available to provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs.

• Provide total healthcare to offenders, maintaining continuity of care from admission to discharge in a correctional facility.
• Safe medication administration following DOC policies.
• Provide employee health services in accordance with policies.
• Follow operational policies, ACA standards, and scope of practice guidelines.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Valid Virginia LPN license or multi-state compact license.
• Experience in screening complaints and referring cases.
• Ability to carry out provider’s orders and maintain documentation.
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA or ARC.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

• Locations and shifts vary, e.g., Baskerville Correctional Center (7a-7:30p), Buckingham Correctional Center (5a-5p), Coffeewood Correctional Center (7a-7:30p), etc.
