The City of Columbia Heights Recreation Department seeks a PT Ice Skating Instructor to lead youth ice skating classes on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Season predicted to be late December - January, depending on weather/ice conditions.
The Instructor is responsible for planning and leading beginner-level classes for youth ages 5 - 12. Through instruction and game play, will teach youth the basics of skating and ensure their safety. Will collaborate and co‑teach with other skating instructors. Assists with communications. Classes are held on an outdoor rink in Columbia Heights, MN. Instructors will be working in variable outdoor winter weather conditions.
Must be intermediate/advanced in hockey or figure skating, and able to teach skills. Must be able to positively interact with youth and families. First aid training and class management skills are a plus. Must pass a background check.
