About the Position

The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in preparing competitive, accurate, and timely estimates for major infrastructure projects ranging from $10M to $500M. This individual will focus on scopes involving earth moving, site development, underground utilities, and heavy highway construction.

Working with minimal oversight, the Senior Estimator will collaborate closely with internal teams to develop bid strategies, validate quantities, analyze subcontractor proposals, and ensure all estimates align with project parameters and company standards. This is a strategic, high-impact position suited for an experienced estimator looking to grow within a respected, employee-owned organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and solicit estimates for bidding site work.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for all assigned scopes.
  • Prepare final project costs and develop construction budgets.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and project management teams.

Requirements

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 7+ years
    of construction estimating experience.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency with estimating software such as Bid2

    Win, HCSS Heavy Bid, or InEight.
  • Project Expertise:
    Heavy highway, bridge, earth moving, wet underground utilities, and concrete paving.
  • Project Size

    Experience:

    Projects ranging $10M–$500M.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction processes, schedules, and cost structures.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
