Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Columbia, MD (On-site)
Assignment Type: Temporary (3-month contract, with potential to convert)
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description:We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a short-term data cleanup and system support initiative for a fast-paced organization. This role will focus on reviewing and correcting vendor master data, assisting with system validation, and supporting the AP team during a high-volume project. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, Excel-proficient, and comfortable working in a project-driven environment with tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Review and correct vendor names, addresses, and master data within the accounts payable system
- Ensure vendor information is accurate, consistent, and compliant across systems
- Assist with data validation during the implementation of new AP automation software
- Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to resolve data issues
- Maintain clear documentation of data updates and changes
- Support the AP team with ad hoc cleanup, reconciliation, and project-related tasks
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
- 1+ year of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience
- Strong understanding of basic invoice review and AP processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, sorting, and filtering
- High attention to detail and strong data accuracy skills
- Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to evolving technology
Experience with vendor master file maintenance preferred - Ability to stay organized and focused in a project-based role
