Position Details:
The Job Coach is one member of a three-person team of instructors in the Life Skills Employment and Education Program (LEEP) at the Howard County Detention Center. The Job Coach works with students to prepare for re-entry and gainful employment.

Base pay range

$38.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Hours and schedule

Hours per week: 6 hours per week.

Work schedule:

Two days, Monday through Thursday, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Coach students to identify the job-related, adaptive, and transferable skills they possess.
  • Assist students in preparing a professional resume and cover letter while building their digital literacy.
  • Prepare students in all aspects of a job interview, culminating in a mock interview.
  • Provide students with realistic ways to handle difficult questions relating to their incarceration in a neutral manner.
