Position Details:
The Job Coach is one member of a three-person team of instructors in the Life Skills Employment and Education Program (LEEP) at the Howard County Detention Center. The Job Coach works with students to prepare for re-entry and gainful employment.
$38.00/hr - $38.00/hr
Hours and scheduleHours per week: 6 hours per week.
Work schedule:
Two days, Monday through Thursday, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
- Coach students to identify the job-related, adaptive, and transferable skills they possess.
- Assist students in preparing a professional resume and cover letter while building their digital literacy.
- Prepare students in all aspects of a job interview, culminating in a mock interview.
- Provide students with realistic ways to handle difficult questions relating to their incarceration in a neutral manner.
