Kids on Campus Instructional Aide – Howard Community College
Instructional Aides support the Kids on Campus Program in a variety of ways. They serve as an instructional aide to classroom teachers, distribute and collect materials, assist with office tasks, and monitor students during break and lunch times. Instructional Aides help to maintain a safe and orderly environment monitoring hallways, arrival, and dismissal, breaks and the lunchroom. They also act as a liaison between parents and staff.
Responsibilities- Assist classroom teachers with instruction and classroom support.
- Distribute and collect instructional materials.
- Assist with administrative office tasks.
- Monitor students during break, lunch, and dismissal periods.
- Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Act as a liaison between parents and school staff.
- High school diploma required at the start of the program.
- Good communication skills and previous work experience with school‑age children preferred.
- Training or skills with computers, copiers, and other office equipment desirable.
- Program work from June 11 to August 14.
- Must be able to work June 11 to August 7; preference will be given to candidates who can work through end of program, August 14.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift small boxes (approximately 25 lbs).
- Walk across campus and up and down stairs daily.
