About

The Role

The Design Engineer manages new product creation, engineering changes, and qualification processes for data center products, bills of material, and labor routings for all new products and product changes via prototyping and actual manufacturing process performance analysis. They develop quotations for non-standard and new product pricing requests. The Design Engineer also maintains engineering drawings, specifications, and quality procedure documentation.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop processes for new families of products with production, purchasing, quality, and operations teams.
  • Proactively account for potential changes to designs and future‑proof where possible.
  • Create quotes for new design and maintain design history throughout the quoting process.
  • Maintain engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Administer processes for new part number creation, bills of material/labor changes, and new product quote requests.
  • Interpret project needs from customer, project manager, or architectural drawings and communicate feasibility, lead times, and potential challenges.
  • Create project submittal documents for approval of project design and details.
  • Support manufacturing team with new process development.
  • Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Additional Expectations
  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Be responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to your supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or any STEM field is required.
  • Three to Eight years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems is required.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with engineering drawing standards and practices, new product development, manufacturing processes and controls is a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Solid Works.
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience is a plus, particularly BIM (Building Information Modeling) modeling.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) applications and computer technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.
